How I managed the project

  1. 01

Backlog ordered by value with the team, to define the MVP.

  2. 02

    Started with second-hand vehicles.

  3. 03

Tests with real users on every version.

  4. 04

Pivot to housing when the tests called for it.

  5. 05

Constant iteration on what users actually do.

The problem

When you buy something second hand, the pressure of the moment and not knowing enough make you skip steps or check it poorly. You end up paying and then finding problems that cost you more money. Ask Pancho set out to solve it for vehicles, electronics and sports gear.

How I did it

With a developer and a UX designer, I ordered the product backlog by the value each item added to define an MVP for second hand vehicles, and we put it in front of real users early. In the tests we saw that walking around with an app, answering questions and taking photos in front of the seller did not feel natural, because social pressure got the better of people. So we pivoted to housing, where taking your time creates far less friction and the user feels they are doing the right thing.
